Former phD student in of MCN, Martin Bergvall, will present his thesis on May 6, 2011 at the Swedish University of Agriculture, Umeå. The title is :
Hydrogeological modeling to improve remediation strategies for a drinking water aquifer contaminated by an aqueous phase liquid

The Master Thesis work by Erika Andersson at Umeå University, currently based at the County administration in Halland, received the award Best Thesis by the Swedish organisation Nätverket Renare mark. She studied the respiration of microrganisms as a method to access the effects of pollutants on the soil eco system. The work was part of MCN project I (Ecotox methods for environmental risk asessment).
