Title: A modular approach to pressurized liquid extraction with in-cell clean-up. LC GC Europe, 23 (6), 292-301, 2010 (Cover story). Haglund P, Spinnel E. A modular approach to pressurized liquid extraction with in-cell clean-up. LC GC Asia Pacific, 13 (2), 6-12, 2010 (Cover story). Authors Haglund P, Spinnel E., Umeå Unversity
Abstract: A new concept for extraction of solid samples has been developed. The popular PLE technique has been modified so that the extraction cell can be divided, thereby greatly increasing its flexibility and versatility.

Dioxin removal from contaminated soils by ethanol washing PDF Print E-mail
Written by Sofia Jonsson
Friday, 21 May 2010 14:01
New article published  in Journal of Hazardous Materials by Sofia Jonsson, Umeå University MCN.
Abtract:
The aim of this study was to investigate the potential utility of ethanol washing for remediating soils contaminated
with polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs),
as a cost-efficient alternative to conventional remediation methods of PCDD/F-contaminated soils.

New article to be be published in 2010, Journal of Hazardous Materials. Title: Heavy metals concentrations and toxicity in water and sediment from storwater pounds and sedimentation tanks Abstract Sedimentation is a widely used technique in structural best management practices to remove pollutants from stormwater. However, concerns have been expressed about the environmental impacts that may be exerted by the trapped pollutants.
