Intercomparison study on the analysis of polar-PACs in soil samples The intercomparison study for polar PACs in soil is about to be concluded. We are still waiting for some results, but soon everything will be evaluated. Eight laboratories from six different countries have participated in the study, which have been supported by the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM). Each lab are analyzing 10 oxy-PAHs, 4 azaarenes and 16 PAHs in four different soils. Staffan Lundstedt is organizing the study. August 10, 2011 Grant from the SNOWMAN Network Umeå University in Sweden and BRGM and CNRS in France have recently been awarded a grant from the SNOWMAN networ,k for a research project on polar PACs in soil. The project entiteled: "Assessment and Management of polar PACs in contaminated soils and remedial processes" (PACMAN) will start on October 1, 2011 and last for three years. Staffan Lundstedt will coordinated the project. August 10, 2011 New article on the oxidation of PACs in a coking plants soil by Coralie Biache and co-workers.
